Leaderboards

A user is assigned a nickname that is displayed publicly to all users in a course. For each belt, the top five user nicknames are displayed to introduce a bit of competition for those who are interested. Instructors have an enhanced leaderboard displaying all users enrolled in their course with names and email addresses. Instructors can use this feature to identify students who may need additional assistance.

Progress Charts

A progress chart is displayed for each belt that displays the number of users who have completed a certain percentage of the belt. This chart allows users to see if they are behind or ahead of their peers and can serve as a motivation to complete each belt promptly. Additionally, instructors can use this chart to quickly assess whether the users enrolled in their course are keeping up or need some motivation.

Heat Map

A heat chart is displayed for each belt that displays a percentage of users in a course who have completed a particular problem for that belt. A color bar at the top provides a reference for what the shade of the color indicates in relation the percentage of users who have completed a problem.  A user can hover over the problem number to observe the actual percentage of users in the course who have completed that problem. This can provide an instructor with some insight into which problems students are struggling most with.
